Christmas 2009

We had three days of Christmas this year. On the 23rd we had my family Christmas party at my parent's house. We had a big meal, had a talent show, played our annual left, right gift game, and my Dad talked to us a little bit about the Joseph Smith project he's been working on the last ten years. He gave each of us kids one of his books. I swear the thing weighs 8 pounds at least! It's neat to have a copy of something he's worked so hard on. Here's just a few of the pictures from that party, I forgot to take pictures until everyone was about to leave!

On Christmas Eve we had a party with Shaun's mom and all the brothers. It was at our house this year and we had a yummy lasagna dinner and then we exchanged gifts. Patsy and Jay got Isaak this cute rocking horse. It makes fun horsey noises and he loves it.

This is our living room later that night after Santa paid us a visit...
On Christmas morning we opened presents for about an hour. I think Isaak got through two, maybe three presents because he would open one, play with it for about half an hour, then move on to the next one. Then we went to Ric and Jo's for their Christmas breakfast and gift exchange. Here's Brett, Lauren, and Logan...

We had such a wonderful Christmas! Christmas afternoon my parents came to visit and see what we had gotten from Santa. That evening we went to Scott and Jae's house for a party. Then on Saturday Darin and Rachelle came to stay at our house. We went sledding, ate lots of junk, and watched movies. They stayed overnight and left around noon on Sunday. So much fun! Now it's time to look forward to the New Year and Birthday months!

I survived!

My maternity leave ended two weeks ago and since they are switching over the computer systems in January, I was LUCKY enough to get to go to a two week intense training session. (can you hear my sarcasm:) My schedule was from 8:30 at night to 2:30 in the morning. Then I got to drive home in the snow, feed the baby, shower, catch a tiny bit of sleep and then get up in time for Shaun to go to work. I am SOOO glad that is over. I don't have much reason to complain anymore, I'm back home working the bare minimum to keep my flight benefits, which means hardly at all! I can't believe that Christmas is next week, I think this entire weekend will be spent shopping.
Shaun's new business is going well. He loves his new office and is able to sell so much more than he could with Farmer's. I'm happy to have a happy husband at the end of the day. He loves to work again, Yay!!!!
Isaak is so happy that there are Christmas specials on TV. If he could have his way, all he'd do is watch shows, have a bottle, or play outside. He's so funny now that he can communicate what he wants. Too bad he doesn't always get what he wants. (What kind of mother would I be if I let him watch TV ALL DAY?!) His vocabulary has got to be at least 500 + words now.
Lila is awake!!! She's past the newborn asleep all day stage. She is SO smiley! She can roll from her front to her back. She's such a happy baby. She really only cries if she's hungry or if she's got a gas bubble in her tummy. I definitely lucked out again. I am feeling so blessed this season. I have everything in the world that I could ever want. These picture are from this month for your viewing pleasure! (Sorry, YES! I have turned into one of those Moms I used to make fun of who only posts pictures of her kids and only writes about her kids. I guess that's what happens when your hubby is at work all day. :) Here's Isaak playing with playdough...

Christmas PJs!!!

OK, Isaak has his baby monkey strapped to him, is holding his toothbrush and toothpaste( which he calls his choo choo because it has Thomas on it and he also insists on SLEEPING with!!! No, not a blankie or teddy for us, give us the toothpaste!!) and he's also holding a snowball. I thought this picture really captures the quirkiness of toddlers!

Oh! The weather outside is frightful, but the fire is so delightful. (Honestly, it's cold. He lasted 10 minutes outside. )

Yay for December and heaters!
