This last weekend we took a much needed camping trip to Murdock Basin. We found the BEST camping spot, I'm sure we'll be visiting there again soon. Here's some of my favorite shots.
We were camping just 30 yards from this little stream.
Seriously, this spot had it all... privacy, atv road, sand pit, stream, and endless supply of rocks and sticks.... it was awesome.
Saturday night we drove up to Mirror Lake for their little fire presentation complete with Smokey the Bear.
Here's a little panoramic view of our camping spot, seriously we didn't have anyone even drive by us all weekend.
Yay! They finally lifted the fire ban!

Hansen Family at Yellowstone
The last weekend in June the Hansen clan took off to Coulter Bay in the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone! It was a perfect family trip filled with good food, bikes, geysers, Old Faithful, a Mommy Grizzly and her two cubs, and great company! We camped three nights in Coulter Bay (which is beautiful!) and spend one eventful day seeing all the sights in Yellowstone, including a momma bear and her cubs far from the road. Here's a few of my favorite pictures from our adventure.
The kids all had a great time riding their bikes and scooters. Yay for fun cousins to play with!
Grandma and Grandpa!
Kim and Lisa!
Paintpots in Yellowstone
Here's the whole clan! Hansens, Rasch, and Crooks!
Old Faithful!!
There she goes!
Yes, this waterfall did scare me to death and NO, I did not let go of my kids while we were near it. Yes, I have turned into my Mother.
Artist's point, my favorite spot in Yellowstone.
The rest of these pictures are of Coulter Bay, I love this lake with the mountains around it, so beautiful!

Mom and Dad's 50th wedding anniversary!!
Ok, I think it will just be easiest to copy and paste an email that Alisa sent to us to tell you all about the evening, here it is!
Quick recap of the evening....
We met at 4pm at the top of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building for dinner at 'The Garden" Restaurant. The company was wonderful, the food was wonderful, and the view of the Salt Lake Temple was a special reminder of Dad and Mom's wedding day and sealing.
During the dinner I passed around "50 Memories for 50 years" for everyone to read. I also emailed this to all family yesterday for your personal copies. Many comments and laughs and a few tears came as we read over Dad and Mom's special memories.
It was a big surprise that Brady and Angela came for the event!! They surprised Dad and Mom by showing up to their ward on Sunday. When Dad and Mom walked into sacrament meeting there were the Hunts casually sitting in a pew as if it's what they do every week. :)
We then went to Dad and Mom's home for homemade ice-cream (thanks Kim and Patrea!) and cheesecake. We listened to CD's of Dad and Mom's favorite music (thanks Sunny!).
Dad and Mom opened their presents- the heirloom blanket and their gift certificates to 3 different restaurants. Dad and Mom were thrilled! They commented on how "Log Haven" was special to them as it reminded them of their courtship days. They loved the blanket and how it was the perfect gift for the occasion and marveled at it.
The DVD slide show was the "icing on the cake" for the evening. Dad and Mom often paused the slide show and would comment and reminisce about past memories and events. They asked about the time and effort involved in obtaining all their pictures and putting it to their favorite music. They were very touched and appreciative of everyone involved in making their Anniversary so special.
Even this morning, I talked to Mom on the phone and she mentioned that they are still thinking about their Anniversary and how it couldn't have been more special.
From me to my siblings: I want to thank everyone for your assistance in this wonderful evening!! The out-of-towners- did just as much as those in town with efforts in time, money contributions, support, and feedback. Thanks for the letters, and the photographs. After the party, Dad and Mom sat down and read all of our special letters and it means so much to them!
Although everyone had a special part to play in the evenings events, I especially want to thank Sunny for her efforts in putting together the DVD slide show! She has told me that a DVD will be given to each family and I think we all agree that it is a special treasure for each of us. Thanks to Patrea for taking the time to scan in the bulk of the photos and to each family for taking the time to send their individual photos to Sunny.
Most of all, thanks to Dad and Mom! Thanks for all the love, support, and the good example you are to our families. You are greatly loved! Planning and attending your 50th Wedding Anniversary was a joy and a privilege!
love, Alisa
A big THANKS to Alisa for planning all of this, it was so fun!
