May 2016

May was pretty much the most awesome month so far this year!!  The first Sunday of the month was Stake conference, so the kids and I went downtown!  We took a tour of the Conference Center and walked around Temple Square.  Great day!

Here's Isaak's pinewood derby car.  He and Shaun worked so hard on it and it turned out great!!
I got to go with Lila on her class field trip to the zoo.  this other cute girl is Makayla in her class.
Carley, Savannah, Lila Avery, Makayla, Quincy

 With Miss Jacobson!
Here's Lila's favorite thing in the zoo, the leopard.  Funny story, this same leopard got out of it's enclosure one week after we went!  It escaped through a very small hole in the fence and was sleeping on a post when a guest noticed it!!
 That's a big tortoise!

Mother's Day.  My very favorite gift that day was that Shaun surprised me and came to church with us that day!!

These cute kids put on a little haunted house in our basement and I got to be their guest.  So cute and fun!!
The middle part of May we visited Goblin Valley and Little Wildhorse Canyon.  It was the BEST TRIP!! Everything about it was perfect.  Great weather, great camping spot, we rented a big toy hauler for the weekend that was perfect, the kids had a great time...... seriously, if I could choose a week of my life to go back and re-live, this would be it.  So much fun!!
The kids being goofy on the drive there.  We stopped at a cute little park in a small town to take a driving break, and the kids totally put on a little show. So cute!
Rock collecting at our campspot
There we are!  We camped on a little plateau where Isaak had some great flat areas to practice on his motorcycle and a great dirt road.
Very cool gas station set in the mountain on the way to grab dinner in Hanksville.

After dinner at Blondies diner
Didn't I say this was the best weekend ever?  Even Porter thought so!
Trying to freak Mom out!
It was SO fun watching Isaak learn to ride.  He was a natural and didn't quit!!  He'd get mad when he'd fall and I'd try to help him.  "I got it, Mom!  How can I learn if you help?"

Goblin Valley is HOT! Like 1,ooo degrees.  Even when you go in May.  Especially if you try to go in the afternoon.  We learned quick.  We stayed only 10 min, left, and came back in the evening.  Then it was PERFECT!  We stayed for a couple hours until the sun was going down.  So beautiful!

Ok, it's hot.. now here we are again in the evening.  Lila and I are hitting "rock bottom!"

LOVE this shot!

Look how strong they are!

Three sisters as we were leaving
This was the only petroglyph we saw on our trip. When the kids are older, I want to hike with them to the Grand Gallery near there.

Little Wildhorse Canyon.  It was overcast that day which made it not so hot.  But we did have to worry about rain, and that slot canyon is dangerous when it rains!

I love this hike. So pretty!

As soon as we got to the narrows, it started raining.  Lila ran the couple miles back to the car.  Poor girl, I guess I really scared her with the flood talk.
Most perfect moment in the entire world.

The last day we were there, we took a ride as a family in the canyon near Goblin Valley.  I know I keep going on about this trip, but REALLY!  This was my most favorite ride, ever.  It was so beautiful, we saw so many exciting things, everyone was happy.... it was AMAZING.

AWESOME!!

WHAT??!!
Very cool old mine.  I would have loved to explore inside if it wasn't boarded up.

Look what my baby started doing!!!  No more elephant crawl.  I just LOVE him!

Here's Isaak's end of year Spanish program.  They sang a song about vowels, and Isaak was a letter O.

April 2016

Ok these first 2 pictures are from March, but I forgot to put them in before.  In the beginning of March we went with a big group of people to Kanab for some riding in the RZR.  Unfortunately, this was the only pic I got of the trip.  This is one spot from our rides.
On our way home, we stopped off in Bryce Canyon.  It was FREEZING!! We saw a couple overlooks, then continued on our way home.
In April we went to a cabin in Big Cottonwood Canyon with Melissa and Levi.  We stayed up late, played games, went for rides on the snowmobiles and had a great time!!

Here's a Sunday we spent at Grandma's for General Conference.  It was a nice day!

 My flowering cherry!
One day I had Avery and Savannah over after school.  Our cute neighbors, the Hulets, had up a stand and were selling treats and doing face painting.  I walked the girls over and this is the mess we ended up with!!  Haha!  It took me forever to scrub Lila's face clean!
We got season passes to Lagoon this year.  Here's Lila and Porter on the whales!

In April I babysat several weekends.  I love this sweet boy!!!  It is challenging with Tyler and Porter together, but I loved getting to know this awesome guy better.
And here's a few random pics I managed to take.  Isaak also took basketball this month, but I somehow didn't get any pictures of it.  Sorry buddy!!!
 Swimming at the Rec Center
 Lego creations
The Museum of Ancient Life with Tyler!
The gully behind our house.  It's such a beautiful path!
Isaak built this whole thing just out of construction paper.  So creative!

 I LOVE THIS SQUISHY BOY!
Our fairy garden.  So much fun building it with these two.  Love them!!!
