August 2014

The first weekend in August we went camping with Marco and Alissa.  I WISH I'd taken more pictures!  We had such a fun time.  We played a lot of baseball, cards, and the kids played a lot on their scooters.  It was fun to get our kids together with theirs.  We had such a fun time!
Here's some pictures of a little hike we took after the Poggios had gone home and we were on our own....

The 2nd weekend in August we went to Yuba!  We look forward to this trip so much!  We had a great time spending time with family, having campfires, flying kites, eating, building sandcastles, playing in the water, going on the boat....... great weekend!!

Lila learned how to ride her scooter!  She even goes down the big hill, gutsy girl!

 Painting a birdhouse......
Trip to classic fun center.  I won this game and the tickets just kept coming out!! Lots of fun!
Here's Isaak playing baseball.  He's loving it!  I just signed him up to play again....

I feel like most of August was a little bit lost to me.  I joined the PTA and the crazy lady in charge is CRAZY!! I was the sponsorship commissioner, so I was in charge of getting donations for school events.  The fun run is in September and you should have seen the list this lady had for me to do!!! She wanted Disneyland tickets, the jazz bear there for the event, salt lake bee there...... it went on for 10 pages!!! It was a full time job with no pay.  I didn't have time to do anything with Lila and when Isaak went off track it just got worse.  Finally I told the lady I had to quit.  If I wanted a full time job I'd go get one.  A volunteer position should NOT be that involved.  Best decision I ever made.  Life is much better now!!!
Here's Lila and Rusty!
 Lila and Andie!!
One weekend we went to Petco and Lila absolutely fell in LOVE with a beautiful Siberian Husky mix they had up for adoption.  When she realized we weren't going to let her bring it home, her face looked like this......
for 30 whole minutes!!!! She was sooo sad!
The end of August we told the kids that were are having a baby.  I had the cutest scavenger hunt set up around the house and they had to find puzzle pieces and put them together.  I have it on video but it won't let me put it on here because it's too long.  The kids didn't believe us at first!!  But they're excited!  So am I!!

July 2014

For the 4th of July we had a big BBQ at our house!  All of my family came, along with Kirsten and her family.  Melissa and Levi were even in town from Chicago and Melissa and the kids got to stay at our house for that weekend as well.  Here's everyone at the BBQ!

Chris and Miyuki had just gotten back from a trip to Japan so they were showing everyone photos from their trip.

 Getting ready for fireworks!
 The mother load!

AAAAND right about after that picture craziness happened.  Someone forgot to anchor down a firework and it tipped over and started shooting fireballs into the crowd.  This cute line of girls were the front lines.  They scattered and ran for the hills.  Brooklyn, the girl on the left got hit in the leg.  Lexi, in the blue tank top froze and just stood there.  Shaun had to run in and grab her and run her to safety.  I was laying on a blanket in the grass behind these girls.  The fireworks started coming closer and I noticed debris starting to fly down toward me.  I rolled out of the way, and immediately after a huge fireball hit the blanket where my face had been.  I should have run, but like an idiot I started smothering the fire and put if out.  Then another fireball came and grazed my arm and singed the bottom part of my hair.  I actually started rolling in the grass because I thought I was in fire!  Thank goodness no one was horribly hurt, poor Beth got the worst of it.  She got a direct hit to the leg and then it exploded hitting her foot and upper thigh.  It was horrible.  Kids were crying, everyone ran inside and started taking care of the injured.  All the kids kept telling me my party wasn't very fun anymore.  :(  We still had some fireworks left to do, but most everyone left after that.  I don't think people will be asking me to do this again next year!
Anyway, here's a picture of my arm the next morning.  The picture doesn't really do it justice.

Right after the whole firework incident Lila started barfing.  I didn't know if she was coming down with something or if she was in shock from fire balls being shot at her.  Turns out it was the stomach flu.  I felt so bad because Melissa was staying at my house that weekend.  We made the best of it and left Lila with Shaun and went to the aquarium for the day.
We had a great time and I'm so glad that Melissa got to stay at my house.  Unfortunately her kids got the stomach flu from Lila, along with Isaak and ruined Melissa's vacation!  I had to cancel my backpacking trip to Red Castle with my Dad and Nephews because my kids were sick, too.  The part that REALLY bums my out is that will probably be my Dad's last backpacking trip.  He is 77 now.... and this hike was hard on him.

July was filled with lots of fun trips to the splash park!  It's always a fun time there. :)

American Fork Canyon going for a day ride in the razor.  Wow it was dusty!!

On July 14 I was a couple days late on my period.  I'd been bugging Shaun lately about having another baby and he finally agreed to try for 1 month.  So I took a pregnancy test and Yay!!! I am pregnant!!

I made the kids take these pictures with me.  They asked why and I just told them it would be a cute picture to send to Dad.

So I sent those 3 pictures to Shaun and work and waited.  Finally after about half and hour I texted him to see if he was in the country.  He didn't get it!!! I had to send him a picture of the pregnancy test before he finally understood.  :)
About 15 minutes after that I went to the splash park with my Dad and Alisa's kids.  It was so hard for me not to spill the beans!!
In the middle of July we had cub camp.  I'm the cub committee chairman in our ward and I put A LOT of hours and work into planning this whole thing.  Here's our cute Webelos!
 Me, Tammy and Alicia
One of our favorite summer activities is Farm Country at Thanksgiving Point.  The kids get to ride a pony and go on a carriage ride.  Lots of fun!

 The newborn was so cute!

On the 24th of July the kids and I went to the Parade with Ric and Jo and all the cousins.  We always have such a great time.  The kids love getting all the candy!

Isaak helping Lila get ready one Sunday morning.
Isaak got about a 3 week break before school started again.  He's in Spanish Immersion and his teachers are Seniora Sanchez and Mrs. Jensen.
I made him his favorite breakfast before we left.....
 Porch photo.....
And getting in line at school!  Happens too fast!
Lila has already done 4 yr old preschool so I'm going to homeschool her this year.  She is so ready to start kindergarten but the school won't let them if their birthday is after Sep 1.  Hopefully I can teach her all the kindergarten stuff this year and have her skip right to 1st grade next year!
Oh, and found this fun wolf spider in the living room.  Not my favorite!
