A few things in August

The first thing I need to say about August is that as of the 3rd, I'm finished with breastfeeding and my body is my own for the first time since May 2007. For a little over three years now I've been either pregnant or breastfeeding. It was definitely Lila's decision to end our eating arrangement and she is happy with her bottle and I'm left a little sad that we no longer have our snuggle time. (Ok, wrestling match is probably a better term, this cute little girl never really was a fan.)
The next exciting news about August is that I had my last day of working at Jetblue on Aug 8th. I'd been there since June 2004, so we had a good 6 yr run. Shaun and I decided that it would benefit us both if I worked for him doing his insurance quotes and payroll for his business. It helps him because he will have more time to sell, he'll be able to come home sooner, and he won't have to hire someone to help him. It helps me because I won't have to deal with onery people on the phone, less (and more flexible) hours, and still working from home!
Last weekend we went on our annual Hansen Campout to Yuba lake. It was so much fun, as always and the weather was perfect! Lila had a great time eating all the sand she could get her hands on and Isaak had fun playing in the sand and water. There are about 30 of us now, so it's a fun group! We boat and play on the beach all day and then have a campfire at night. Huge thanks to Ric and Jo for hosting this every year! It is amazing how much planning goes into it.

Here's Shaun eating his chex mix and Lila eating her dirt. ( yes, she prefered it even to Jo's famous Chex mix!)

Flying kites early in the morning
the trailers lined up, making our circle of a camp, and flying kites!
Me and Isaak on the boat. He's so funny when he gets on there, he likes it, but he just sits there, stone faced and quiet. I think the rocking almost puts him to sleep.
Shaun on the wakeboard

And I just had to throw this picture in. THIS is how we eat around here lately. One foot up!

I think Shaun got so excited about switching sides, he just quit!
