Roots

For our monthly family girl's night last night we tapped into our Danish heritage and made Christmas baskets for our Christmas trees. My Mom used to make these when she was a little girl. The tradition is that you fill them with candy or popcorn and give them out to people that stop by your house on Christmas day. I made one for each member of our little family. They were easy to make and it was so much fun to sit around giggling with all the girls. My Mom also made us some tasty soup for dinner. Here's Miyuki, my Mom and me cutting out the paper.
And Alisa, Kim, and Beth!

Here's my finished work, now I've just got to wait until Thanksgiving is over so I can put up my Christmas tree. :) You can't tell very well from these pictures but they do open up into a little pocket.

The rest of these pictures are random pictures I've taken the last couple weeks. They were just too cute not to include on my blog.

Lila's baby blessing

We had Lila's baby blessing yesterday. I think she looked so cute, the dress she is wearing is the same one that I was blessed in. I've been saving it forever and hoped that I'd have a little girl I could dress up in it! :) After sacrament meeting we had our family and friends over to our house for some dessert. I completely forgot to take pictures until there were only a few people left at our house, so here's the pictures I DID manage to get. :)
My sister Kim crocheted this blanket, she is soo talented!

I'm so blessed to have come from a great family and I love the family that I married into. Thanks to everyone for all that you do for us, we love you!

Things that go BOO!

Ok, this isn't the best picture.... but it's HARD to get pictures of the two kids together. Isaak's always trying to smother her, they just never sit still! This Halloween we took Isaak Trick or Treating in our circle and a few houses up the street. He was really interested in knocking on everyones door, then seemed surprized when they kept giving him candy. Our friends and neighbors, Jared and Leigh were having a fire in their front yard and were giving out s'mores. We hung out with them for a little while then came home and BBQ some hot dogs and handed out candy. Isaak got super excited every time the door bell rang. He loved seeing everyone that came to our door. Funny kid. :)

Here's my pirate all ready to go Trick or Treating ( and a GREAT shot of my bum. :)

I'm sad that my favorite holiday is over!! Happy Halloween!

Autumn odds and ends

This last Saturday we went to Thanksgiving Point with our friends Justin and Jill. Their little Leah was born just about 12 hours after Lila. She's so adorable and it was fun to get out with the kiddos. There was tons to do at Thanksgiving point. We went on a little train ride, watched pigs race, went through a haunted lizard, did face painting...... there was so much to do!

Here's Isaak and Kate (or CAKE as Isaak calls her :)

Here we are on the train..

Justin, Jill, Kate and Leah (inside Jill's coat in her nifty sling!)

What hotties!

We had a blast at Thanksgiving Point, thanks so much Justin and Jill for letting us tag along! Here's some random pictures from this month.... this car is from Build A Bear, yet he fits in it... I'm sure not for long..

I LOVE this picture, he's giving her bones!!

When it's too cold outside to play what do you do? Build a fort, of course! Here's the little one that got us started on the idea...

Then we turned the kitchen table into a fort complete with toys, books, snacks and a comfy seat.

This month has just zoomed by, I can't believe Halloween is this Saturday!! Happy Autumn!

Halloween Party

We had our annual Halloween party last Saturday and instead of doing a Murder Mystery like we usually do, we had an adult and kid party with dinner and fall crafts for the kids. We had such a good time, I'm sad it's already over. Here's our family above, (Lila was asleep so we didn't get her in! ) and below is Kirsten and James' family...
Darin and Rachelle...

Dave and Pedrina..... we never did get family shots of Cody and Danielle and Jared and Leigh :(

Here's Lila, you can't really see her costume, but she was a giraffe!

My cute little Pirate

All the boys played ladder ball and croquet while the girls did crafts with the kids and chit chatted.

The balloons were a big hit with the little kids, especially Isaak.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Since we've been home....

Well, Lila is three weeks and three days old today. Time sure does fly!! When she was born she weighed 6lbs 2oz and when she went in for a checkup last Monday (when she was one day shy of 3 weeks) she was already up to 7lbs 7oz! I LOVE the little, tiny babies. It makes me sad that she is already getting bigger. She's been FABULOUS since we came home from the hospital. She eats about every four hours and sleeps really well at night. Isaak was always awake from about 11 pm to 3 am and I kind of expected her to follow the same pattern, but she sleeps at night. :) I've been doing well, too. The OB I had this time was SO great. He stiched up my stomach better than the last doctor I had and so I healed tons faster. One week after my surgury I stopped having any pain. LOVE IT!! Isaak's been slowly adjusting to the change. I've got to keep Lila out of reach because he will literally crush her to death with love it I give him the chance. He's been a lot more whiney lately and needs CONSTANT attention. To top it all off, he's now teething! So we've got the irritibility and diarhea. Poor little guy! Shaun's been doing really well. For those of you that don't yet know, Shaun quit Farmer's and is starting his own independant agency for auto and home (really similar to what he's been doing the last 8 years with health and life. ) For all of September he was working from home (AWESOME with the new baby!) But he is now officially moved into his new office and getting the business up and running! It's a lot of stress, but it will be in full swing in a couple months and will be an actual 9-5 job! He's NEVER had that in the 8 1/2 years I've known him! It will be SO nice to know when I can plan on him for dinner. :) The picture below is Shaun with both kids (yes, Lila is the pink bundle on his lap :)

I LOVE Halloween outfits!

Here's Isaak wearing my shoes. I was amazed that he could walk as well as he did in them.

I hope this isn't becoming a habit. He fell asleep sitting up again! It looks like your neck would hurt when you wake up. :(

Having two kids has been quite the adjustment for me, I'm so glad the new ones come sleeping all the time so it eases you into it. :) I love that I get to stay home with them all day, it really is the best job!
