Missouri 2010

This last week I took the kids to Missouri. It was a very last minute trip. My nephew, Spencer was planning on going there to visit Angela for his Spring break and was going to fly out on my buddy passes. The flights looked horrible, so at the last minute I decided to go with him and brave a 1,075 mile road trip with two kids! I'm SO glad I did, we had such a great time! Melissa drove down from Chicago with Lincoln and we all got to stay for the week. AND we got to see brand new Tristin! He is such a sweet little baby, and we were able to have his baby blessing while we were there. We did so many fun things while we were there. We went to Jamesport one day and went in some Amish shops, went on several walks (when we felt like braving the mud, see above photo!!! Poor little boy with the bags wrapped around his legs because his CRAZY mommy, ME, is worried about him getting his pants dirty! ) One day we even killed one of the turkeys and had a thanksgiving dinner the next night! I can't say I was part of the butchering committee, I'm a little to squeemish and decided to take a nap. Spencer had a great time doing all that stuff. He thought it was the coolest spring break ever. :) We played games, watched movies, and had such a great time. It's fun to get all the kids together. Charlotta, Lincoln and Isaak are all the same age, within a month of eachother. Isaak loved all the animals. They have chickens, guinea hens, a cow, turkeys, and cats. The used to have a horse and pigs, maybe next time they'll have some again.... Driving was so much easier with Spencer around. He helped out so much with the kids on our road trip. Every time we stopped for gas I had to feed Lila, so he'd take Isaak on a walk to help him stretch his legs. He changed poopy diapers, and took turns driving with me. The drive out was fantastic, but the ride back we ran into blizzards, black ice, and at one point I woke up to find we were in Denver. I-80 splits off in Nebraska, which we missed and lost about 3 hours getting up to Cheyenne to get back on I-80. Poor Isaak was NOT happy about being in the car so long. Between our detour and having to go only about 35-40 mph during the bad weather, the return trip took about 22 hours. The outbound took only about 17. I COULD NOT have survived that without Spencer and I am so grateful he was with me!!! My pictures are mostly the things we did outside. I never thought to take pictures while we were just hanging out, so most of , ok, all of my pictures are of Isaak! Lila was strapped to me in the baby carrier the whole time were were outside, so no pictures of her! Here's a cemetary near their home we took a walk to...
Isaak and his Uncle Brady with the cow. Brady even put him ON the cow for a little bit, which Isaak thought was so cool.

Here's Miriam, Isaak, and the turkeys... Hmm one's missing, poor thing!

Isaak stood by this little ditch for a good 20 minutes just throwing rocks into the water. He thought it was so cool every time they'd splash.
This is the best swing. The kids could sit in it for hours. It hangs from their "gallows". Every time they butcher a cow or deer, the swing comes down and this is where it hangs for awhile.

I love visiting at Angela's and it's become an annual thing for us three girls to get together. I'm so glad I went! The last two photos are just from the last month that I thought I'd throw in.

The Union Station

Last Saturday we went to the Union station. They were having a big model train show going on, complete with old medical army trains you could climb on and a little train for the kids to ride on. It was a fun day!

And here's some new cute pics of the kids... The last couple months have not been too eventfull. I've been super busy with work. Jetblue has switched over their computer system and I've had mandatory overtime for the last month. Lots of lost sleep and trying to catch up during the day while the kids are napping. Shaun's been super busy with work, too. Hopefully things will slow down for us soon and we'll have more fun things to write about!

Heber Valley Railroad

We went on the Heber Valley Railroad last Saturday. Isaak LOVES trains right now, so this was part of his Birthday. Patsy and Jay came with us and we had a great time. Of course I lost our camera and didn't realize it until we were on the train, EVEN THOUGH they announced that someone had lost a camera and that they should come claim it. :) At least we got some photos after our ride. We had such a fun time! We ate lunch on the train and got to watch lots of crazy people ice fishing on the lake. A really sweet lady was taking pictures with her professional camera and is emailing them to us, so I'll post more pictures later.

AND....... he's spent!

Isaak's birthday!!

Isaak turned 2 yesterday! My parents and Patsy and Jay stopped by the house and we able to watch him open his presents and have some cake. He was so excited to open all of his presents! He's really into trains right now, so on Saturday we're going for a ride on the Heber Valley railroad. I think I'm more excited about it than he is. :) Here's some pictures of the festivities....

and some pictures from the last couple weeks....

Here's Isaak when he blew out his candles. I think we sang to him about 5 times because he liked it SOOOOO much! Funny boy! I love you so much, Isaak! I am so lucky to be your mom.

Birthday Month!

My Honey turns 31 today! How in the world did we get so old? My birthday was on the 5th of this month. 28 years now. WOW. We got Grandma Patsy and Grandpa Jay to watch the kids and Shaun took me out to dinner and Sherlock Holmes. We had such a great time. Shaun went on a Birthday Jazz game /overnight ski trip with his brothers last week. Today the poor guy's working but when he gets home we're off to dinner. Then next month my sweet Isaak is turning 2! I was holding him last night and looking at how long his legs have gotten and realized he's NOT a baby anymore. It goes by way too fast. At least Lila can still be my baby for a year. Happy Birthday, Shaun! If I could do it all again, I wouldn't change one thing. Love you!
