Somewhere over the Rainbow

Dreams you dare to dreams really do come true

Someday I wish upon a star, wake up where the clouds are far behind me

Where troubles melt like lemon drops high above the chimney tops that's where you'll find me!

Air Show and more Birthday Celebrations

This last weekend we went to the Airshow in Wendover. We had such a great time, we left Friday evening and camped overnight. Then we hit the show at 9am, saw all the planes and cars, came back to the trailer for lunch, then went back and saw the planes fly. Shaun's Dad (Daddy Grandma, Isaak renamed him!) came with us and was able to tell us a lot about all the planes. The weather was perfect and it was a great day, I'm sure it will become an annual event for our family.

This little car was remote controlled. You can see all the firefighters sitting down in the background. They had on a headset so they could make the dog talk and it even would spray water. So cool for a two year old!
You can just see the boys drooling over this bat mobile....

Getting ready for the show to start!
It's hard to wait, at least there are cracks in the concrete to keep you occupied!

I can't remember what earned this look, but it's a classic Isaak face!

Be sure to wave to the pilot!
Thanks for coming with us Daddy Grandma! We'll be sure to work on that name for you. :)

Today Lila had a Birthday Dinner and Grandma Jo and Grandpa Ric's.

We're getting ready to sing the Happy Birthday song!
We had good help opening the presents...

One happy girl with a new puppy!

Happy Birthday month little Lila!

More fire pictures

I didn't take any of these pictures, but they show really well how low the fire came down our mountain. My house is just a couple streets below the column of smoke in this next picture

You can see how the fire came right next to these people's yards. All of our neighbors above Emmeline finally were able to come home last night. There were army trucks and police cars blocking all those streets. As of right now the fire is 50% contained. The whole mountain is made up of embers that smoke when the wind picks up.
I watched this house on the hillside. It was surrounded by flames and it's a miracle they were able to save it. It's a beautiful house. Shaun and I walked through it once while it was being built.

Again, my house is a couple streets below that column of smoke. Yay for our firefighters!!!

Wild fire

All of these pictures were taken from our front yard. The fire started at Camp Williams yesterday around 3:30. It spread to the top of our mountain about 7:30 and we watched it creep closer all evening. It looked like a volcano with lava coming down. I wish the pictures I had taken after dark had turned out, these pictures just don't do it justice. The fire went all the way from our mountain to the cove. Several miles long. The flames were so high, easily 200 ft. A spark would catch lower down the mountain and then burn it's way up to meet the rest of the flames. Half of our ward had a mandatory evacuation. Everything south of Emmeline. (about 10 houses up the street) We packed up the trailer and everything important to us. We finally decided to leave at 12:30 am and camped in the Walmart parking lot. What a long night! Horrible nightmares. I hardly slept at all. I heard that our street was evacuated later during the night. We returned this morning and the fire is under control. You can see in today's pictures how far down the flames got. We're sure that we're fine, but we're still keeping our fingers crossed that it doesn't cross into the gully and come towards us. All that brush is so dry and it's right next to our backyard. Woo hoo for the fantastic firefighters!!! Only four homes were lost and it could have been so much worse!

Lila's first Birthday!

Where it all began....... here are a couple of her first pictures.

And here she is today! She's walking and even talking a little bit. She can say hi, Mama, Dada, what's that?, and Lila. For her birthday she got two baby dolls that she is now carrying everywhere, some new shoes, her Halloween costume, the customary box of tissues she gets to pull all out by herself, and I made her a new tutu. Today we all went to the State Fair and had cake and presents afterwards.

Who needs to use their hands !?
I didn't get too many pictures of the fair, but here's a few that I did mangage to capture.
You can tell how SUPER EXCITED Isaak isn't to be riding a strange pony he's never seen. :)

This was a couple days ago but I just had to throw in a picture of her cute piggytails. I had to let her play with my nintendo DS to get her to hold still long enough. :)

Happy Birthday sweet Lila! I love you so much and am so lucky you came to our family. I can't imagine life without your sweet smile!

Lots of stuff!

To start out, here are my two new favorite pictures. I honestly think my kids are the most beautiful kids in the world.
Lila's been walking more and more. She now walks about as much as she crawls.

Last week I babysat my sister's two cute boys, Jonathan and David for two days. When it came time for bed, Isaak and Jon wanted to sleep in the same bed. It lasted for about 15 minutes until Jon came out of the room because Isaak was hitting him with his truck..... But still, they were so cute while it lasted.

Last Friday we had our annual Woodford Millcreek camfire/dinner get together. I don't know what was wrong with the setting on my camera. Almost all of my pictures came out blurry. :( Here's Chris and Rick eating their dinner....
Ryan and Zach playing in the stream..
Isaak throwing all the pebbles he could find into the stream....

Sitting around the fire......
Isaak and Jon... I think they'll be great friends.

Beth and Lila

Here's a picture I took of Shaun and the kids before church
aren't we so cute!!!

This little girl is Montana. (Isaak's Tanna, that's what Isaak calls her) She lives next door and is Isaak's best friend. She comes over every day to see if Isaak is around. He ADORES her and is always asking where she is.

A few weekends ago was the Hansen grand sleepover. Isaak got to stay the night with Grandpa Ric and Grandma Jo. They had pizza, a piniata, a water fight, games and sidewalk chalk. He seemed to have a great time!

Thanks again for taking him overnight! It was fun for him and a nice break for the parents!
