Crystal Hot Springs

This last Friday afternoon we went up to Crystal Hot Springs and camped. We hadn't been there in a few years, and it's one of our favorite spots. It was SO nice because it was cold and rainy, but the water was so warm and nice.

We've got to take Isaak swimming more often. He always clings to us and doesn't have much fun. Here's Isaak pretending to drive on the way back to our camp spot. We had a fabulous time and came back late Saturday night so that we wouldn't have to unload all our stuff on Father's day! By the way, Happy Father's Day, hon!!!! You are fabulous and I'm so glad I have you!!!

I just had to include this picture. This is the face I get 90 percent of the time when I bring out the camera. This snaggletooth grimace is his idea of posing! I really hope that's not how he thinks WE look when we smile! I'm reminded of Calvin and Hobbes...... :)

Hospital, family

Last Tuesday we had a scary experience. Poor Isaak had a Febrile seizure. He'd been fine all morning, I knew that he was getting one of his big molars but he hadn't been sick at all. When I got him up from his nap, I changed his diaper and just as I was finishing, his little legs and arms came up and he started shaking. My first thought was "Gee, are you cold?" Then his eyes rolled back and he started foaming at the mouth! He was making this horrible rasping sound so I couldn't even tell if he was breathing. I scooped him up, grabbed my cell phone and ran out the door. My neighbor is a nurse so I ran over to her house as I was calling 911. Of COURSE she wasn't home! As I was waiting on her porch, my other neighbor stuck her head out her front door to call to her kids. I ran over to her house (still calling 911!) and as soon as she answered the door I handed her Isaak so I could finish my phone call. She was SO SWEET! Isaak was ok at that point. He only seized for about 30 seconds, but then he was so unresponsive until I handed him to my neighbor. He looked up and started touching her face. Then he fell asleep till the paramedics arrived. They put an oxygen mask up to his face and he jerked awake and looked around all confused. They took his temperature and it was at 101.7. They said it is pretty common for kids to have seizures when they get temperatures quickly. It tends to run in families and often a seizure is the FIRST indicator that they even have a fever!! So, it may happen again sometime. At least I know what to do if it does. We got to ride in the ambulance to Primary Children's and he's doing just fine. Now we've got TWO molars coming in, so I've got to really watch his temperature. Moments like that make you realize just HOW MUCH you love your kids!!!
This picture is typical of Isaak lately. He's recently discovered his nostrils and ears and ALWAYS has a finger in one of not both. Just glad he hasn't figured out how to PICK yet. :) The next picture is also pretty typical. All Isaak wants to do these days is read.
My brother, Jonathan and family came in town this last week. It was pretty eventful with several family parties and get togethers.
Don't you just LOVE Shaun's face!
Here's the gang at Leatherby's. I hadn't been there in a long time!

May 2009!

Wow!! It's been a while since I've blogged, I've got a lot to catch up on! The picture above is just one of the sweet moments I catch before I go to bed. I swear I could just stand by his crib and watch him for HOURS!! Isaak LOVES to get into the pantry and pull out any goodies we might have in there. He'll usually bring something over to you and say "mmmmm" but in this case there were just too many candies to choose from. He plopped himself down on the floor, trying to decide which one he wanted. :)
He is ALWAYS getting into the tubberware cupbord. I swear I have to wash everything before I can use it, just in case.....

Melissa, Levi, and Lincoln came to visit the first part of May. It was so fun to get together with them. Lincoln would go down the slides by himself, but Isaak preferred to hang out on the ground. The best part was when he fell down and just stayed sitting because he didn't want to put his hands down on the ground to help himself back up, guess it was just too dirty!!! That's MY boy!!!

We bought a new trailer a couple weeks ago and took it out just last weekend. It was a spur of the moment, we don't care where we go just wanna get out of here thing, so we ended up staying at a KOA in Brigham City. It was fun, they had a pool, horseshoes, frisby golf, and restauants nearby. It was so relaxing to just hang out in the trailer all weekend!
Here's Isaak by his bunk bed with all his toys....

If you look at the top of this cute little head you'll see...... that's right, peanut butter and jelly sandwich! Unfortunately I couldn't stop laughing at him, so now it may become a habit.

Rusty of couse came, too. He's such a big sweetie.

This swimming pool was FREEZING! Isaak hated it. We kept trying to slowly get him in deeper and deeper, but he never really did warm up to it.

Sooooo, we set up THIS pool in front of the camper! Hot water and everything. :)

Now this is camping in style. Shaun is playing Xbox! Love how Isaak's doing his "mean"face for the camera!

Just relaxin....

Isaak LOVES books and I've recently rediscovered the library! He'll sit forever surrounded by his books just entertaining himself..... even after I've already read to him for an hour. :)

Salt Lake City Supercross

Shaun and I usually have to go to Las Vegas every year to see a Supercross race, but they finally brought it back to Salt Lake! We made a full day of it, we brought the trailer and got there about 11:00 in the morning. It rained on and off all day, so having the trailer nearby was great. We spent the first part of the afternoon watching the practices and walking around in the pit, then came back to the trailer for some lunch and R&R.

Isaak was SUCH a good sport all day long. He stayed with us all afternoon, then my sweet parents came and picked him up so he could spend the night with them.
When the race started in the evening, we had to have our ponchos on, but it soon cleared up and we had great (cold) weather the rest of the night! Great race, James Stewart won (yaay!) but my favorite rider, Kevin Windham came in about 15th. :(

We had such a great time. Shaun and I spent the night in the trailer and then picked Isaak up in the morning. Can't wait till next year, just hope it doesn't rain again!

Lila Rose Hansen

It's a girl! We're planning on naming her Lila Rose Hansen. EVERYONE told me it would be a girl and they were right! I'm very excited to start buying pink!! I'm not quite as far along as I had thought, the new due date is Sep 27. Even with our good news, today has been a little bit bittersweet. Shaun's sweet Grandma passed away this afternoon. We had always been planning on naming our baby Lila if it was a girl, and we just found out that Shaun's Grandmother's first name was Lela. We will miss her and are glad that our daughter can share names with such a great lady!

Happy Easter!

For Easter we got Isaak a bowling set, some plaid shorts, plastic bendy bunnies, creepy crawly bugs, and of course easter eggs with candy!
He would rattle each egg to make sure it had candy in it. :)

Here's Shaun's haul this year....

The two boys bowling.....

The BEAUTIFUL flowers Shaun got me ......

I got this taken at Walmart. I know it's a horrible copy. Poor Isaak kept looking at the bunny, then me,.... he didn't know WHAT to think!

Happy Easter everyone!!

He's WALKING!!

Last night Isaak started walking! His record is about 6 steps. My baby's growing up too fast!
